Nicole Langlois is a barrister who is dual qualified to practice in the UK and Jersey. Her main areas of specialisation are trust litigation, commercial contractual disputes and recognition and enforcement of foreign judgments, financial services/regulatory work, freezing orders and asset tracing.
Nicole’s reported cases include: Anchor Trust Company Limited v Jersey Financial Services Commission [2006] JRC 181; [2006] JCA 040 which was an appeal against decision to refuse to register a trust company business; In the matter of the Curatorship of X [2002] JLR 259 involving jurisdiction of Royal Court to grant a declaratory judgment; Planning and Environment Committee v Parish Rate Appeal Board [2000] JLR 439 a case dealing with the proper method for assessing building land.
Other recent cases include:
- Representing an IFA in a claim for professional negligence;
- Advising trustee of an Employment Benefits Trust in respect of a claim for breach of trust;
- Advising in relation to the construction of a will;
- Advising trustee in claim for breach of fiduciary duty;
- Advising in relation to construction of a development agreement.
