Lyndsey de Mestre has experience in business disputes, insolvency and contentious probate litigation, encompassing advice, drafting and appearances in courts at all levels.
After graduating from Cambridge University with a first class honours degree, she tutored in Commercial and Insolvency law at the London School of Economics. In 2000 she was selected as one of four junior counsel to represent the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry in matters relating to Company Directors’ Disqualification, and in 2003 was appointed Junior Counsel to the Crown (C Panel).
In 2002 Lyndsey gained experience of commercial litigation in offshore jurisdictions when she was seconded to a leading British Virgin Islands law firm as a litigation assistant. She recently built upon this experience by acting (with Stephen Moverley Smith QC) in a cross-border shareholders’dispute centering on Hong Kong and the BVI.
Lyndsey is also used regularly by the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) to advise and appear on a number of matters before CIMA’s disciplinary tribunal.
