Edward has a broad and balanced practice, welcoming instructions in all areas of chancery and commercial work.
Edward read Law at Downing College, Cambridge where he was President of the Cambridge Union. After leaving Cambridge he completed a masters degree at the University of Pennsylvania, studying at both the Law School and Wharton Business School. He then became director of a group of engineering and property management companies, acquiring a practical understanding of the commercial realities of business and, in particular, company law, before completing pupillage at XXIV Old Buildings.
He regularly appears before the High Court, County Courts and other tribunals in trials (including a recent three-day trial of a property dispute worth over half-a-million pounds and involving three expert witnesses), interlocutory hearings, petitions and applications as well as giving general advice, settling pleadings and undertaking other drafting.
Edward has twice been retained by one of the leading offshore firms for an extended period of time to advise its Guernsey business and trust law department on a variety of matters, reflecting the strong reputation of XXIV Old Buildings in offshore and trust work.
