Alexander Pelling has for over eight years specialised in cases involving financial/capital markets, derivative products and hedge fund disputes. In a recent case he considered the extent to and basis upon which a fund that has acquired defective investments in relation to which it has a claim should bring into account recoveries made on assets recovered through those investments in circumstances where the fund has been reconstituted in another jurisdiction before the recoveries were realised.
He has considerable experience of cases involving capital markets, including disputes concerning the trading of financial derivatives. In connection with this he has also undertaken a range of work for spread-betting companies, including acting in disputes with brokers and clients, the drafting of terms and conditions and advice in relation to regulatory matters.
His other areas of expertise include insolvency and related property disputes, product liability cases and all kinds of contractual business disputes, particularly those involving the travel or aviation industries.
