Cross-border contentious and advisory work represents a defining aspect of XXIV Old Buildings’ practice. We are frequently instructed on matters in the Channel Islands, the Bahamas, Bermuda, the British Virgin Islands, the Cayman Islands, Gibraltar, Hong Kong, the Isle of Man, Singapore and most other offshore finance centres. Many of our barristers are full members of or have been called, ad hoc, to the local Bar in these overseas countries. Members also have substantial experience of cross border issues in numerous onshore countries in Continental and Eastern Europe, the Russian Federation, Africa, and North America.
Our work in this field covers all aspects of international and offshore corporate and trust disputes, funds, financial products and derivatives, Insolvency and restructuring, arbitration, mediation, planning and structuring. Members have been instructed in almost every important offshore case in recent years (not all of which can be mentioned but those in the public domain include BCCI (Cayman), Several of our members have assisted in the drafting of legislation in a number of offshore centres and are frequent lecturers and writers on offshore and international topics.
XXIV Old Buildings: "specialises in offshore work and has built a substantial profile in commercial chancery activity in the UK and in international jurisdictions." Chambers & Partners 2007.
