Members of XXIV Old Buildings are first and foremost business lawyers. You can expect a commercial approach from us.
Members are instructed in a wide variety of commercial and commercial Chancery areas, with particular emphasis on business matters (both litigation and transactional matters, including mergers and acquisitions); company and financial services with related pension law aspects; insolvency; property; trusts and estates work; international and offshore – particularly in relation to trusts and offshore structures with the closely associated fields of fraud, breach of fiduciary duty and asset recovery. Professional negligence is covered in all these fields, particularly in relation to solicitors, accountants, professional trustees and financial managers and advisors.
We are particularly respected for our practice in the international and offshore fields, covering both traditional Chancery work as well as major commercial litigation. Many of us frequently advise and appear in other jurisdictions (such as the British Virgin Islands, the Cayman Islands, the Channel Islands, the Bahamas, Bermuda, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Gibraltar and the Isle of Man).
We also have several niche areas of practice such as spreadbetting and regulatory work, charity law and art law. More information on the barristers' with expertise in these areas can be found under the Individual Specialism section of areas of work. Our expertise in Professional Negligence is also covered in this section.
It is not possible for us to list every area of practice in which we are involved. Therefore, if the practice area you are looking for does not appear above, please contact Nicholas Luckman, our Senior Practice Manager, or one of the practice management team on 020 7691 2424 or email your query to: clerks@xxiv.co.uk.
